Grace Ayo graduated Magna Cum Laude from City College of New York in May 2019 after completing her B.S. in Biomedical Science through the Sophie Davis biomedical education program. She is currently a first-year Medical student at the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Medicine. As a TRACC scholar, under the mentorship of Dr. Kaliris Salas-Ramirez, she is currently involved in determining whether taurine has sex specific effects on the brain that could lead to differential therapeutic responses. As a woman in medicine, Grace hopes to utilize both her research training, experience and acquired knowledge from her medical education as a platform to better serve, educate, and mobilize change to address issues like addiction that are affecting our communities.
