Sara Hameed

Sara Hameed (she/her) is a Clinical Psychology PsyD student at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) at Rutgers University. She previously obtained her B.A. in Psychology from Barnard College, Columbia University. Her past research includes serving as a Clinical Research Coordinator on intervention-based studies for depression, anxiety, and PTSD at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. Through TRACC, Sara is working with Dr. Tanya Saraiya on a NIDA-funded clinical trial examining a new intervention for individuals with co-morbid opioid use disorder and PTSD. Sara is excited to be able to explore the intersection of substance use and trauma among racially and ethnically minorized groups during her time at TRACC. Her research interests include mental health disparities, immigration and trauma, and substance use in Arab-American and MENA populations.
