Tabassum Sami

Tabassum Sami is a third-year undergraduate student at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at City College of New York. She plans to attend the CUNY School of Medicine as a member of the class of 2027. Through the TRACC program, Tabassum is currently involved with research under the mentorship of Dr. Diana Martinez, whose lab focuses on addiction research as well as studying new treatments and therapies that can be used to treat different disorders. There, Tabassum is a part of a study seeking to examine the use of transcranial magnetic stimulation on patients facing chronic pain. Her research interests include understanding the neuroscientific background of psychiatric disorders and helping to alleviate symptoms through novel treatments.
